Filipino Beef Stew (Nilagang Baka)
Nilagang baka in Filipino, is one of the top dishes in Philippines. Beef is boiled with vegetables to produce a tasty soup. This soup is very good during rainy or winter sessions, every sip will make you feel warmer. I really love this soup and I'm sure you are going to love it too.
INGREDIENTS:
2 lb beef chuck roast cut into cubes
7-8 c water
1 small cabbage cut in quartered
1 large onion also quartered
4 stalks green onion
5 medium potatoes
1 tsp. pepper corn
1 beef bouillon
fish sauce
PREPARATION:
1. In a big casserole, boil the beef in 7-8 cups water for 30-35 minutes.
2. Season it with fish sauce and beef bouillon while its boiling, so the meat can absorb the salt taste.
3. Add in the onions, boil for more 10 minutes.
4. Add the potatoes, wait until potatoes are cooked.
5. Add the cabbage,green onions and pepper corn, cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
6. Soup is ready to serve, serve with hot white rice.
